Sandhill Crane
and Art Festival:
Baker Sanctuary's Sandhill Crane and Art Festival is held annually
the second full weekend in October at the Kiwanis Youth Area. Other
activities as well as crane and wildlife viewing take place in and
around the sanctuary. More information can be found by visiting the
Baker Sanctuary web page,
www.bakersanctuary.org,
and following the links for the festival from there.
Academic Boosters
Craft Show:
The Bellevue Academic Boosters hold
a craft show every year on the third Saturday in October in the Bellevue
Middle School. They started to participate with this craft show in 2002,
beginning to run it entirely in 2003. It is the group's main fundraiser.
This craft show not only draws
local crafters but crafters from Detroit,
Houghton Lake, and many other areas. Although the show is not a juried
show, the boosters one stipulation is that the items for sale be
handcrafted. The booths are 8' x 10'. To reserve a booth please contact
Vi Byington at 269-763-9260. Specific booth locations are available on
a first come first served basis.

The Academic
Boosters are dedicated to encouraging, recognizing and awarding academic
achievement in the Bellevue Community Schools. They do
this by purchasing academic
supplies, purchasing academic awards and handing them out at special
events held by the schools to promote, recognize, and award academic
excellence, and by sponsoring some academic groups to participate in
events, such as Math Day at Olivet College.
Halloween:
The Village
of Bellevue will be celebrating Halloween on October 31st.
While the Village does not set hours for trick or treaters the generally
accepted times are from five p.m. until eight p.m. or dusk (5:00
p.m.-8:00 p.m.)
Parents
please walk with your children. The Village streets are busy during
trick or treat hours and during this exciting time for young children
they do not always remember to watch for vehicles before crossing the
street.
Drivers please keep in mind that
there are several small children walking our community on Halloween
evening. We need to pay special attention to keep the youth of our
community safe.
